I am passionate about photographing newborn babies.  When I am really lucky, the baby will smile.  Gosh I love that!  The smiles seem to come as the baby is in a transition from a light to a deep sleep.  But I don't really know why.  What causes a newborn to smile?  Is the baby dreaming?  There aren't a lot of memories in that sweet little brain yet.  Is there any emotion involved?  Is it a religious experience?  I don't know if there is an answer, I am just curious.  Your thoughts?
